Busy Bee

I feel like a bad blogger.  I haven't had any time to do outfit posts lately.

Partly because it's summer and there's just too much fun stuff to distract me.

But it's mostly because I'm packing up all of my belongings and moving in with my boyfriend this sunday. (Wish me luck!)

So heres a quick InstaUpdate on my life through Instagram:

 All of this past Saturday was spent dancing & soaking up the sun at Governor's Ball (a music festival in NYC).

For my birthday my parents got us tickets to see Ringo Starr & his All Star Band

(I'm a HUGE Beatles fan by the way)

 Enjoying a few cold ones at my local beer garden (I'll miss it when I move).

Summer has (finally) officially arrived.  It is going to be 90+ degrees the next few days and I'm actually looking forward to it.  

I can't wait to spend my free days lounging & basking in the sun at the beach, Coney Island, Central park, and my aunt's gorgeous pool house in Long Island.

Of course I'll probably get sick of the heat soon and wish fall/winter would hurry up, but for now I can't wait for hot summer days.

P.S. - The colors of my outfit are actually mint & teal green... but for some reason they look very blue in the photos.  Oh well.

I'm so glad the rain held off for my birthday last weekend, that I don't mind all of the rain we've been experiencing this week.  I'm still wearing bright, fun spring pieces so as not to blend in with the sea of black clad New Yorkers.

Ran into this cute cat at my local deli during the shoot... and we couldn't help but snap a few pictures with her.

My birthday was actually yesterday, but I didn't have enough to to post until now.

I spent all weekend doing some of my favorite things--

Friday night I went to an intimate dinner with family & friends (and had my favorite food ever... my mom's gnocchi).

Saturday was spent cooking curry with my roommates then I went out to a couple of my favorite bars in Brooklyn at night.  

And finally Sunday went out to brunch (of course!) and just relaxed at home in good company.

For some odd reason I'd never thought of pairing my denim jacket 

with dressier items (like this skirt & blouse).

To me the textures, colors, & prints I'm wearing

are like day & night.  Opposites even.  

They just don't seem to go.

But somehow they do.

Paint It White

I never used to be into white clothing for some reason...until now (obviously).

Partially because I've always been afraid of getting them dirty (NYC can be a bit grimy at times, but I still love it)

and partially because they're supposedly not-very-slimming.

But this spring I've come around full circle to the idea of wearing white... and wearing all white.  I just have to make sure I don't sit on wet paint or a dirty subway seat.



P.S.  Vespas are amazing!  I went for a ride on my friend's Vespa and it was so much fun. 
Next on my to do list-- get a driver's & motorcycle license so that I can get my own.
