Denim Days of Summer

Seven For All Mankind dress, Jessica Simpson bag, Sam Edelman heels, Free People sunglasses, Kate Spade necklace, J. Fay earrings & bracelet, street vendor ring

Summer days call for cute sundresses.
The ease of just throwing on a dress and cute shoes makes getting ready on humid days a breeze.

P.S.  I scored this denim 7FAM dress for only $20 at Beacon's Closet (a local thrift store)!

Lazy Days

Wildfox tshirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs pants, Sam Edelman flats, H&M bag, Free People sunglasses, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, J. Fay earrings, Urban Outfitters necklace, ring from street vendor

The summer heat is approaching, and that means I've been able to break out all of my new warm weather clothes purchases I made over the winter. Like this Wildfox tee & MBMJ pants (both amazing sale finds at Century 21!).

I'm loving the combination of crop tops & high waisted pants for spring.  How about you?

P.S.  This look is quite reminiscent of my tomboy days when I wore nothing but wide leg jnco pants!

Red Morning Light

Wilfred tank, Talula pants, H&M leather jacket, Steve Madden heels, H&M bag, Free People sunglasses, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, J. Fay earrings, Urban Outfitters necklace

While looking through these photos I couldn't help but think-- what would I have thought of this outfit 10 years ago?
I would have hated it!  I would've thought it was too feminine (I was a total tomboy), too funky (I was super shy/timid), & a bit reminiscent of parachute pants (eek!).
But at the present, this is one of my favorite outfits I've featured on the blog.   It's comfy, fun, and can easily take me from day to night.

What do you think?  Do you also find yourself thinking about how your fashion sense has changed over time?

Get Back

H&M leather jacket, H&M top, Zara skirt, H&M bag, Steve Madden heels, Kate Spade sunglasses, J. Fay earrings, Urban Outfitters necklace, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch

It's been ages since I've done a blog post, but I'm finally getting back into the swing of things.
Life has been a little bit crazy the past few months... and it got in the way of my favorite thing (blogging!).  But things are starting to fall back into place, and I'm so happy to be back!

Beanie Up

Is it just me, or do beanies seem to solve a lot of winter's fashion problems?

Think about it--
Bad hair day?  Cover it with a beanie.
Is your outfit too bland/boring?  Throw on a bright, fun beanie.
Have a cold, but still have to leave your bed?  Stay warm and cozy with a beanie.
Is it so windy that your hood/earmuffs/hat keep blowing off?  A beanie will solve that too.

Today I'm feeling a bit sick, am having a bad hair day, and don't want to face the rain/wind out there.  But I'll be facing the day with my trusty cat beanie, bold red lips, & comfy denim.

The Man Repeller pretty much summed up the awesomeness of the beanie (click here) recently.
And who can argue with Leandra and the loads of street style snaps of these beanie-clad ladies...

P.S.  Thank you @daddifoto for the awesome cat beanie.

NYFW Recap (+ the winner of my giveaway is...)

Just a quick recap of my experience at NYFW through my Instagram...
My first show of the week-- Erin Barr.
Lincoln Center looking magical at night.

The Alon Livne presentation was filled with avant-garde/futuristic gowns & headpieces.

I met Olivia Palermo outside of Lincoln Center!  And had a dumbstruck, doofy smile on my face.
Then went shopping at Century 21 and came close to buying this black & white mod shift dress by Alice + Olivia (but unfortunately it was 1-2 sizes too big).

Two of the outfits I wore & got street style snapped in (let me know if you find pictures of them anywhere!)

My NYFW essentials-- my Nikon DSLR & an awesome little bag that wont weight me down.
My #NYFWdiet included lots of pizza & quick meals on the go.

My dream LBD & leather cut out dress at the Hernan Lander presentation

Last week was my second time attending NYFW, and I keep getting more and more involved/excited each time.  Unfortuneately work and an apartment search got in the way of me going to a lot more shows/events.  But I still and an amazing time at the shows & even just walking around the snowy streets street style watching.

Can't wait until next season!  Hopefully the weather wont be too extreme then.

And congratulations to Julie @Street Lily  for winning my Valentine's Day giveaway!

Grayscale (at NYFW)

Forever 21 blazer, Zara top, Zara skirt, H&M tights, MIA boots, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Forever 21 earrings
Like most New Yorkers, I have a ton of black in my wardrobe.  Some people think it's a bad thing... but black is such a common, essential, easy to wear shade.
Today, one of my last days at New York Fashion Week, I decided to go back to my roots and wear nothing but shades of black and white.  I played with patterns (floral, leopard) and textures (cotton, silk, leather) to keep it interesting and playful, instead of drab and boring.

Oh... and look who my photographer & I saw walking through Lincoln Center.
Karlie Kloss!
Bruno got a few great photos of her as she rushed out of a show.
She's just as gorgeous in person as she is in photos, if not more so.
