Falling Back

It seems like we're back to fall weather in NYC.  So I had to take a break from my spring clothes and bundle up a bit more (and try out my new boots).

Hopefully the sunny spring weather will be back soon because I have lots of new clothes I can't wait to post.

. . . . .

I'm planning on going to the opening of the CUT25 pop-up shop tomorrow evening at Saks.
Shopping + cocktails + music is sure to equal a good time.
It's hosted by one of my favorite fashion bloggers-- Kim Pesch of Eat.Sleep.Wear.
Will any of my fellow NYers be there?

Fairytale Footwear...

...is now a fairly affordable reality

I'm sure you all recognize the iconic glass slipper from Cinderella.

Now you can have the next best thing.
Yes, the pumps in the above picture are real.
They're not exactly glass, but transparent PVC with lucite heels.
And available for purchase (click here).
By none other than the incredible Marc Jacobs.

At $595 they're a bit out of my price range... but oh so tempting
(I can justify the purchase by making them my future wedding shoes... right?)

And if you could afford an even heftier price tag
check out this pair made of actual glass
by Maison Martin Margiela...

...but at $2,580 a pair I dont think I'll be purchasing them any time soon.
Just admiring them.  And wondering how uncomfortable they must be to walk in.

P.S.   Another pair I'm still searching for:

Blending In

Anthropologie t-shirt, Zara pants, Audrey Brooke sandals, Vintage Coach "Court" bag, Marc Jacobs watch,  H&M earrings, Essie "Navigate Her" nail polish

While walking around the city in these pants I felt like I was doing anything but blending in... but in the park I seemed to blend in quite a bit.

I've been loving the floral trend for spring so when I saw these pants at Zara I had to have them.  Since the pants are so bold I paired them with simpler, more neutral pieces.

P.S.  Can't wait to try this manicure out...

Dear Zara... Love, NY

The new Zara store on 5th avenue is incredible.  It's big, spacious, neat, & has just about everything you see on their website.  For those of you who shop at Zara and live in/visit NYC- you need to check out the new location.

I picked up the following pair of floral pants and skirt -

and I'm still lusting after the following blazer, bag, & scarf...

Invested

Forever 21 shirt, Express vest, Forever21 jeans, vintage Dooney & Bourke bag, Sam Edelman flats, Free People sunglasses, Marc Jacobs "Henry" watch, Kate Spade "Supercalifragilipstick" necklace, J.Fay earrings, thrifted bracelets

Today I'm wearing two of my favorite wardrobe pieces-- my menswear-esque vest and my vintage Dooney & Bourke purse.

I often layer this vest over a simple white t-shirt/blouse to make a bland outfit a bit more interesting.

On days where I'll be out & about all day I wear this D&B purse because it's big enough to hold all of my essentials (keys, wallet, phone, lipstick, eyeliner, sunglasses)...but it's not so big that it'll weigh me down.  The green and brown color combo is something you don't often see in a bag so it really stands out and gives an outfit a great pop of color.

Sparkle & Sunshine

Finally the day comes when I don't have to wear a winter coat!  But between the wind and the bright sunshine I kept switching between jacket, scarf, & sunglasses to adapt to the weather.  When will spring just settle in for good?!

I'm always on the search for the perfect black flat that can go with any outfit...and I still haven't found it.  As a New Yorker I walk A LOT...so I need something extremely comfortable, but still fashionable. Any suggestions?
