Red Morning Light

Wilfred tank, Talula pants, H&M leather jacket, Steve Madden heels, H&M bag, Free People sunglasses, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, J. Fay earrings, Urban Outfitters necklace

While looking through these photos I couldn't help but think-- what would I have thought of this outfit 10 years ago?
I would have hated it!  I would've thought it was too feminine (I was a total tomboy), too funky (I was super shy/timid), & a bit reminiscent of parachute pants (eek!).
But at the present, this is one of my favorite outfits I've featured on the blog.   It's comfy, fun, and can easily take me from day to night.

What do you think?  Do you also find yourself thinking about how your fashion sense has changed over time?

Flared

H&M sweater, Vince wide leg jeans, Uniqlo cashmere scarf, Steve Madden heels, Rebecca Minkoff bag, J. Fay earrings, Topshop heart ring, H&M ring, Forever21 "love" ring

I've been searching for a pair of high waisted, wide leg jeans for ages... and last week I finally found the perfect pair from Vince at Nordstrom Rack.  Normally I admire the clothing from Vince, but never actually purchase it because it's a bit out of my price point.  But these jeans were so discounted, and so perfect that I just couldn't resist.

Suit Up

H&M blazer, Zara blouse, H&M shorts, vintage Dooney & Bourke bag, Steve Madden heels, Free People sunglasses, vintage earrings, Kate Spade necklace, Topshop ring

I'm usually not one for business attire (my job doesn't even call for it), but when I saw this short suit at H&M last week I just couldn't resist. I love it's neutral color scheme because it allows me to pair it with fun colors and prints.  And the shorts keep it fun and playful, and not too business-like.

Fashion's Night Out

Zara top, H&M shorts, Nine West heels, Zara bag, Marc Jacobs watch, H&M earrings, Topshop & H&M rings

Last night NYC turned into a veritable circus of fashionistas (& a few male tagalongs).
It was the fourth annual Fashion's Night Out, NYC's pre-fashion week celebration.  Stores hosted parties with DJs, bands, giveaways, discounts, and lots of free drinks.  The streets of New York were quite a spectacle, akin to New Years Eve in Times Square & Halloween in the East Village.  Herds of shoppers filled stores & the downtown city streets to the point where it was almost impossible to move.

While it is fun to shop & sip on free wine/champagne, I may consider avoiding the crowds & going straight to the after party next year.

Day to Night

Photography by Bruno Daddi

Old Navy dress, Kate Spade bag, Seychelles sandals, Kate Spade sunglasses, Anthropologie earrings,
Kate Spade necklace, Marc Jacobs watch, H&M ring

It's no secret that a "little black dress" is an essential piece in a woman's wardrobe.  Today I'm wearing my summer version of this classic piece.  I can't seem to stop wearing this dress because it's light & airy...& it can easily take me from day to night.

And without planning it I accessorized my outfit with mainly Kate Spade items.  I just love how their designs are classic, but still playful & quirky.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Forever21 tank top, Free People pants, H&M bag, Payless sandals, Free People sunglasses, H&M earrings, JewelMint bracelet, thrifted necklace & rings

This week has been a much welcomed break from the heat wave we were experiencing last week.  So I finally broke out my new wide leg, pajama-esque Free People pants.  I love the casual bohemian vibe they add to an outfit and they're SO comfortable, lightweight, and soft... I pretty much want to live in them.  You'll definitely be seeing a lot more of them come fall.

Today we lost a great musician and a great man-- Adam "MCA" Yauch.
I'll be at a party in Brooklyn tonight celebrating his life and music.

Cheers to you MCA, rest in peace.

Gum Drops

Photography by Bruno Daddi

H&M top, United Colors of Benetton pants, Levi's jacket, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Dolce Vita sandals, Marc Jacobs watch, Murano glass ring, J. Fay earrings

Not an ounce of black in my outfit today.  I'm tired of winter's drab/muted colors so I'm wearing color head to toe.

A good pair of platform sandals has been on my wishlist for a while.... and I just found this neutral DV pair at DSW over the weekend.

P.S. - This outfit is getting lots of votes/favorites on Chictopia (click here).
Please stop by & show some love  =)

Blending In

Anthropologie t-shirt, Zara pants, Audrey Brooke sandals, Vintage Coach "Court" bag, Marc Jacobs watch,  H&M earrings, Essie "Navigate Her" nail polish

While walking around the city in these pants I felt like I was doing anything but blending in... but in the park I seemed to blend in quite a bit.

I've been loving the floral trend for spring so when I saw these pants at Zara I had to have them.  Since the pants are so bold I paired them with simpler, more neutral pieces.

P.S.  Can't wait to try this manicure out...
